We start at the rooftop bar in the Spanish coastal seaport of Bilbao overlooking the city skyline at twilight. You may make some time on your arrival to visit the 2nd of the famous Guggenheim Museums. From Bilbao, we begin our journey to France along the rugged Basque coastline through small fishing villages to arrive at the iconic seaside town of San Sebastian for Tapas and Sangria in the old town. Our green route inland toward the Pyrenees is carefully chosen for smooth quiet roads all the way with the option to bag the trophy climb of Col d’Aubisque on arrival to Lourdes.

This route was chosen to offer exceptional landscape and cultural experiences on a route that is not too challenging.

This tour is a little special compared to previous tours as we will be heading northeast through Switzerland for the high mountains, offering several opportunities to see the Alpes looking down and bucket list touristic experiences, including a glacier train and shuttle through the mountain to Jungfrau station from the James Bond (on her majesties secret service). We are also planning on including the Mont Blanc, and Gelmer Funicular (the steepest railroad at 106%), before heading down into Italy. Many people claim which is the best lake for cycling, but we are going to leave that decision to you as we will be riding past 3 of the 4 as we come into Lago di Como, and if you are staying with us for the next stage through the Dolomites and Venice, you will also ride Lago di Garda which is the largest lake in Italy.
